The victim of the assassination attempt that took place on Sunday night on the Tirana-Durrës highway has been identified.

Sources suggest that the victim is Iljaz Çali, who was a person listed by the police for the cultivation of narcotics, in 2016. 37-year-old Çali was driving a rented vehicle, type "Land Rover". 

The dead body was found inside the vehicle only by the police, but the possibility that another person was in the vehicle is not excluded, because the passenger door was open. Police have launched checks at various hospitals in the country, to see if injured people have arrived, and who may have been in the car along with Çali. 

The assassination attempt on Çali was carried out by a moving vehicle, and after the hail of bullets, the car of Cali walked a few meters uncontrollably, and then ended up on the side of the road. 

The police stated that they had set up several checkpoints, in order to catch the perpetrators, who, taking advantage of the darkness in the area, managed to leave, according to sources in the direction of Fushë Krujë.
