A 58?year?old woman was killed Saturday in Tirana after being stabbed by her husband during a family dispute, police said.

Authorities identified the victim as Lumturie Patushi, who was attacked inside her daughter’s apartment while caring for her two grandchildren, ages 10 and 14. According to preliminary reports, her husband, 68?year?old Hysni Patushi, stabbed her in the chest during an argument witnessed by the children.

The victim was rushed to hospital but did not survive. Police later arrested the suspect in Kamza and recovered the knife believed to have been used in the crime.

Investigators said the suspect may have been intoxicated at the time of the attack. Records show he was previously arrested in 2017 for domestic violence against his wife.

Police have also questioned the family’s son?in?law, while the two minors are expected to give statements in the presence of a psychologist.
