Tourism Minister Seeks Respecting of Anti-Covid Measures despite Positive Data
Albania's Minister of Tourism, Blendi Klosi has stressed Thursday that the COVID-19 pandemic is still among the people and encouraged that the measures set by the Ministry of Health on the eradication of the outbreak should be implemented by all citizens.
He released this call during a meeting with Saranda’s Tourism Management Committee, where he also welcomed the "Our Coast" initiative, which consists of the demolition of illegal constructions along the coastline and the provision of that territory to the public.
“We are now at the peak of preparations or at the last moment that the preparations are over and we are starting at full capacity. We are doing very well this meeting today in Saranda after we managed to make a strong effort in contact with the regional authorities to have a full consensus to present Albania as a clean destination.
We are now a country, which has been accepted by all European Union countries that we have full access in terms of the tourist season and the concern we had at the last community meeting we held in Himara that whatever happens to the borders, especially the Greek border in Saranda I believe that it has been resolved and I believe that the season will be complete and there will be no obstacles on the Albanian-Greek border.
After a very intensive meeting with the Minister of Tourism of Greece, I believe that together, we have managed to pronounce very positively about the progress of the border points between Albania and the Hellenic state so as to have the opportunity for the tourist season to serve both sides of the border.
I join the request of the Prefect, the Municipal Council must take the decision on hours and areas, where music is not allowed and all businesses have clear hours, restricting music even within non-collection, not creation of activities, but high music must not happen this yearâ€, stated Klosi among other things.
