Trial on Emiljano Shullazi Postponed again, No Reason Given
Trial on Emiliano Shullazi and four other convicts as part of the Shullazi gang is postponed again in the Court of Appeals.
Since the start of the process in December 2018, the number of postponed hearings on the Court of Appeal is over 40, putting the trial in a deadlock. The reason for the last postponement is not disclosed, due to the closed-door hearing.
At the end of July 2020, Emiliano Shullazi, the head of Shullazi gang, was isolated in the '41 bis' regime, while the process against him in the Court of Appeal is collapsing.
In 2018, Shullazi's gang was sentenced to a total of 55 years of imprisonment, but they have appealed the decision of the Serious Crimes Court and now are facing the Special Court of Appeal against Organized Crime and Corruption.
