Two Arrested for EUR 50,000 Fraud on Businesswoman
Two young men identified as Alban Gjoni and Rudor Balla were arrested by the police after an investigation by the economic crime sector in Tirana.
Youths pretended to be businesswoman Vilma Nushi, contacted a director who was employed in the latter's business.
Contacts were through messages on mobile phones, where the arrested had put the name and photo of Vilma Nushi, and they asked the employee for an amount of 50.000 EUR on the grounds that there was an emergency.
They made a meeting near a hotel on Boulevard Dëshmorët e Kombit, and after they saw that the person they were deceiving had approached, they sent a message again on behalf of Vilma Nushi, telling her that a trusted person of hers would come to to receive the amount of 50.000 EUR.
Initially, the employee at the Marketing Distribution company did not understand the fraud, but after meeting the business woman Vilma Nushin at her office, she informed her that she had delivered the order. At this moment it has been revealed that everything was a fraud by the youth.
The investigative group believes that behind this fraud scheme is the name of Florian Gjergji, who has been accused for previous fraud schemes, pretending as businessmen or politicians.
A 25-year-old man is also wanted for this event, while after the arrest of two young men, the police can also seize an amount of more than 8,300 EUR.
