The U.S. Embassy is deeply concerned by the destruction and force on display in Albania's parliament on Monday. 

In a short reaction, this Embassy said that such damaging and potentially injurious actions have no place in the democratic process. 

"We encourage all involved to exercise restraint, engage in constructive dialogue, and uphold the values of respect and civility. We support peaceful and collaborative discussion on Albania’s EU accession negotiations, and will continue to stand by Albania's institutions as they work to bring Albania closer to the Euro-Atlantic community," ends statement.
