Violent Protests Erupt in Tirana as Demonstrators Vandalize City Streets and Enter City Hall

Violent protests broke out in Tirana today, with demonstrators initially gathering near the Ministry of Education before moving along Durrës Street, where they set fire to various objects and smashed the windows of businesses.

The protesters later marched toward Tirana City Hall, where they broke down the entrance door and entered the building.

The unrest also spread to the Nine-Story Building area, known locally as “9-katëshet,” where demonstrators set fire to rubbish bins and damaged traffic lights and road signs.

The incidents left several areas of the Albanian capital  affected by vandalism and damage to public and private property.
