Vlora Man Handcuffed as International-Albanian Police Seize 400 of Drugs

About 400 kilograms of cannabis and 100 grams of hashish were seized during a search of a vessel in the port of Brindisi in southern Italy the authorities informed Monday.

For this event, the 30-year-old from Vlora, E. I. was handcuffed. The operation was carried out by the Ministry of Interior and Frontex, as well as assisted by the Guarda di Finanza.

If the seized amount of drugs were to be put on the market, its value would be around 4 million EUR, the Italian authorities evaluated.

“In the framework of the Agreement between the Ministry of Interior and Frontex, for the control of the maritime borders, during a joint anti-drug operation between Frontex, the Italian GDF and the Albanian Police, for the prevention and crackdown on illegal trafficking, it became possible to strike an attempt at international narcotics trafficking.

During the joint operation, the vessel was blocked and the 30-year-old citizen from Vlora, citizen E. I. was handcuffed.

During the search inside the vessel, 400 kilograms of cannabis sativa and 100 grams of hashish were found and seized”, announced the police.
