What to Know as Germany, Greece Open Borders with Albania
Following the recommendation of the European Union, Greece and Germany have removed the restrictions on movement with Albania, bringing it to five the list of countries that open the door to Albanian tourists, after Spain, France and Hungary.
Entrance into Germany requires a Covid test, a proof that the person has passed the virus or been vaccinated. While in Greece Albanians need a negative result from rapid test, PCR or certificate of cure from the virus.
Both the German and Greek authorities recognize only vaccines approved by the European Medicines Agency. From "Pfizer", "AstraZeneca", "Moderna" and "Jensen", only the first two have been applied in Albania. Most of the injections for immunization against Covid are from the Chinese "Coronavac".
Greece
From today, in the Hellenic state will be allowed to pass all categories of travelers from Albania, both for family and tourist purposes.
Travelers must have with them a form for movement, a vaccination certificate, a PCR or rapid test, and a positive dialysis certificate, valid for two to nine months. The same criteria will be used for children over 12 years old.
Despite this, random tests will continue to be carried out by the authorities at the border crossings. While the limit number of entrances until June 28 remains 1500 per day for entrances from Kakavija, 250 from Qafë-Bota and 400 from the border point of Kapshtica.
After this date, full liberalization of the movement is expected. An important point remains the PLF type form, which is mandatory for completion at all border points. Failure to complete it electronically online, according to the Foreign Ministry, means that the daily travel limit has been reached. Citizens can choose another day to travel to Greece.
Germany
From tomorrow, Albanian citizens will be allowed to re-enter Germany, without having to justify the reason for the trip. The announcement of the German Ministry of Internal Affairs on the lifting of movement restrictions for some third countries that are no longer at risk also includes Serbia and North Macedonia.
The only condition is vaccination with one of the doses approved by the European regulatory authorities, but the possibility is not excluded that in the coming months will be accepted for doses vaccinated with doses by the firm with a comparable standard of protection.
Such a sentence in the announcement of the German Ministry of Internal Affairs leaves open the possibility of movement of citizens vaccinated with "Coronavac", which has already received the approval of the WHO.
According to the document, the vaccinated must have met the two-week period after the second dose injection. On Friday, the European Council included Albania in the list of countries whose restrictions on non-basic travel to the union countries have been lifted.
The list, which will be reviewed in two weeks, in addition to Albania, includes countries such as Serbia, North Macedonia, Australia, Japan, Lebanon, Israel, Rwanda, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, the United States, as well as Hong Kong. -Kong and Macau.
