A young woman was killed and three other people were injured late Thursday after a car fell from an overpass in the Albanian coastal city of Durres, police said.

The accident occurred at around 10:15 p.m. near the Dajlani Bridge in Neighborhood No. 4, according to preliminary police information.

Authorities said the vehicle was driven by A. Xh., a 26-year-old man from Fier. As a result of the crash, the passenger, identified as V. G., 18, died at the scene.

The driver was injured, along with two pedestrians, identified as T. T., 33, and A. M., 35. All three were taken to hospital, where they are receiving medical treatment.

An investigative team is at the scene and is working to fully clarify the circumstances and causes of the accident, police said.
