Zelensky Tells Trump There Should Be 'No Compromises' with Putin as They Meet at White House

Zelensky then says there should be "no compromises" with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the negotiation of a peace deal.

He shows Trump pictures of war atrocities, and adds: "I think President Trump is on our side."

Trump says he and Zelensky are going to sign the US-proposed minerals deal with Ukraine during their joint news conference in the East Room of the White House - scheduled for 13:00 EST (18:00 GMT).

He describes the deal as "very fair".

Before President Zelensky arrived at the White House, President Trump - who waited briefly outside before greeting his Ukrainian counterpart - was asked by a reporter if he felt it was going to be a good meeting.

Trump gave no words in response, and flashed a thumbs-up instead.
