10% VAT Refund, over 1,000 Farmers Apply for EUR 3.5M

The number of applications from farmers to benefit from the 10% value-added tax (VAT) compensation through auto-invoices issued to them by licensed processors or collectors reaches over 1 thousand.

According to tax administration data, 1,265 applications have been submitted by July 20, 2026, with a total value of the requested compensation of Euro 3.5 million.

Applications for VAT compensation started on July 1, 2026. Applications are made through the e-Filing system for all farmers equipped with a tax registration number NIPT.

After entering e-Filing, farmers must fill in the “Bank details” section with the bank account details and the IBAN. After completing the request, the system will display the auto-invoices for the period January-June to the farmer, which must be identified by the farmer.

After identifying the auto-invoices, the system will automatically calculate the total amount of the auto-invoices and the amount of the 10% compensation benefit. The system also checks the deadline, invoices, and accounts before accepting them.

The purpose of this scheme is to reimburse the 10% VAT that the farmer has paid for agricultural inputs, reducing production costs and promoting the formalization of transactions in the sector.
