Tirana police arrested Wednesday 16 employees of electricity distribution operator (OSHEE).

They are all charged for abuse of duty because allowed energy theft in the area.

According to police, 4 were let in 'Arrest in prison' security measure, six in 'House Arrest' while six others with the obligation to appear at court.

There are suspicions that employees and former employees of OShEE in Gjirokastra, have misused the material base in the directorate's warehouse to procure and install electricity meters, without a contract with OShEE, with the aim of obtaining illegal benefits from family subscribers and entities, who, through these meters, stole electricity.
