Albania, Eid-al-Fitr Celebrated amid Eased Restrictions

Thousands of believers celebrated this Thursday evening at Skanderbeg Square Eid al-Fitr, also called the "Festival of Breaking the Fast" a religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of the month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting of Ramadan.

Celebrations started amid pandemic at 05:40 and last for around 40 minutes as Albania started to ease restrictions due to low figures of new infections and deaths.

Eid-al-Fitr is regarded as a time to celebrate, with Muslims gathering their friends and family to show gratitude toward God following the previous month of reflection. The holiday serves as a great reminder for Muslims to be grateful for what they have, and to share with those who may be less fortunate.
