Albania’s Ministry of Defense said Saturday that 35 wildfire outbreaks were reported across the country over the past 24 hours, with eight fires still active as emergency crews continue operations in several regions.

A total of 533 operational personnel and 39 firefighting vehicles have been deployed to manage the situation. The response has also included 186 members of the Albanian Armed Forces, four helicopters and two Air Tractor firefighting aircraft. Currently, 120 Armed Forces personnel, two helicopters and two Air Tractor aircraft remain engaged in operations.

In Dajt, Tirana, firefighters and emergency crews are continuing efforts to contain a blaze in the area above the Qafë-Mollë tunnels. The operation is supported by 50 Armed Forces personnel and two helicopters. Authorities said there is currently no reported threat to populated areas.

In Priskë and Farkë, near Tirana, the intervention of 30 firefighters using six vehicles has brought the fire under control.

In Krujë, operations are continuing at the Abaze and Zidoll fires. Ground crews, supported by aerial operations on Friday, have helped stabilize the situation. Authorities said crews in Zidoll are working to fully isolate and extinguish the remaining flames, with no immediate threat to residential areas.

One of the main ongoing operations is in Gurë-Lurë, Dibër, where crews have opened access corridors to prevent the fire from advancing toward homes. The operation is continuing with ground teams supported by 50 Armed Forces personnel, two Air Tractor aircraft and a water tanker.

Operations are also underway in Qafë Helmes and the Bulqizë-Selishtë area, with the support of 20 Armed Forces personnel. Authorities said there is no reported danger to homes in either area.

Meanwhile, crews in Lezhë, Elbasan and Shkodër are continuing efforts to isolate and extinguish remaining fire pockets in Lufaj, Dardhë and the Tërbuni forests.

Authorities also reported progress in Përmet, Trojë, Qukës and Paulesh, where the fires have been completely extinguished following operations by emergency teams.

The Ministry of Defense said response efforts remain focused on containing the active fires, protecting populated areas and preventing the spread of flames in affected regions.
