65-Year-Old Man Shot Dead in Northern Albania; Police Question 10 People
A 65-year-old man, Viktor Bardhi, was shot dead Thursday morning in the village of Ndërfushëz, in the Mirditë region of northern Albania, police said.
Authorities have questioned 10 people in connection with the killing. Some of those questioned are reportedly linked to the Reci family. All 10 were released after giving statements to police.
The vehicle allegedly used in the attack was found just a few meters from the scene. However, investigators have so far failed to find fingerprints or other evidence that could help identify those responsible for the killing.
Security cameras installed along the ring road in the nearby city of Rrëshen have also been examined. Investigators reportedly found no suspicious vehicle traveling toward Mamurras around the time of the shooting.
The location where Bardhi was killed had no security cameras, further complicating the investigation.
Police are also investigating whether the suspected perpetrators received assistance from other people, either in carrying out the attack or in fleeing the scene.
