Albania’s Covid Infections Surpass 600 Benchmark as Deaths Tick Up

The number of Covid-19 cases diagnosed in Albania has reached record levels, according to latest figures.

A total of 602 cases were reported in the country in the past 24 hours and 8 people passed away.

The rise is also likely to have been caused by an increase in the number of Albanians getting tested recently.

Currently in 3 COVID hospitals, 406 patients are being treated, 14 in intensive therapy and 3 are intubated.

Despite the efforts of doctors, in the last 24 hours, 8 citizens with Sars-Cov2 positive have lost their lives in COVID hospitals: a 48-year-old, a 71-year-old, 74-year-old, an 85-year-old from Tirana, a 60- year old from Mirdita, a 60 year old from Kurbin, a 63 year old from Gramsh, a 71 year old from Durres.

In the last 24 hours, 564 citizens have recovered who have completed the 14-day quarantine, according to the data of the Central Health Care Operator. 13,453 citizens have won the battle with the virus since the pandemic outbreak.

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection appeals to all citizens to respect at all times the rules for the prevention of SARS COV2, to wear the mask in any environment outside the home, to respect physical distancing by avoiding gatherings and to take care of personal hygiene.
