Albania Sees Over 800 COVID-19 Cases, 12 Deaths

COVID-19 figures in Albania remain high. 809 people have tested positive of Covid-19 during the last 24-hours, while 12 people have died due to the novel virus.

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection addresses citizens to limit contact with others, to stay at home avoiding unnecessary movements in order to prevent COVID-19.  "Avoid gatherings and visits to your relatives to curb the spread of SARS-COV2", appeals the Ministry of Health.

The situation of COVID19 in the last 24 hours is presented as follows: 2711 tests were performed and 809 citizens tested positive.  Confirmed positive cases have been identified in the following municipalities: 276 cases in Tirana, 88 cases in Shkodra, 37 cases in Elbasan, 30 cases in Kruja, 28 cases in Saranda, 27 cases in Fier and Berat, 24 cases in Mirdita, 23 cases in Lushnje, 22 cases in Lezha, 21 cases in  Kavaja and Korça, 20 cases in Kuçova, 18 cases in Durrës and Vlora, 14 cases in Has, 13 cases in Pogradec, 12 cases in Mat, 10 cases in Kurbin and Dibër, 9 cases in Kukës, 8 cases in Malësi e Madhe and  Gjirokastra, 6 cases in Tepelena and Përmet, 5 cases in Devoll, 4 cases in Puka, Tropoja, Mallakastra and Skrapar, 3 cases in Kolonja and Gramsh, 2 cases in Peqin and Delvina, 1 case in Librazhd and Bulqiza.

In the last 24 hours 551 citizens have been recovered, bringing the number of healed to 25,876 since the beginning of the epidemic. The number of hospitalized continues to be stable. Currently in 4 COVID hospitals, 426 patients are being treated, 28 in intensive care and 9 patients are intubated.
