US Ambassador to Tirana, Yuri Kim, met this Wednesday with the Minister of State for Entrepreneurship Protection, Edona Bilali to discuss the possibility of increasing the US investment in Albania.
Ambassador Kim herself said that during the meeting they discussed ways to attract more investment from abroad as well as the threat of securing investments due to corruption.
Among other things, in her post, Kim states that she asked Bilali for the government to take concrete measures regarding the transparency of the processes and the rejection of corrupt practices.
"Good meeting with the new Minister of Entrepreneurship, Edona Bilali, whom I met for the first time in Shkodra. We discussed ways to attract more investment and jobs from abroad. I look forward to working closely together to increase US investment in Albania from north to south.
In this context, we discussed the threat to security and development that comes from corruption. We encourage concrete measures to increase the clarity of rules, the transparency of processes (including their digitalization) and the rejection of corrupt practices, so that everyone has a fair shot," Kim wrote after the meeting.
