The Court of Appeal refused to remove the seizure of the villa of the mother of Ajola Xoxa, the wife of the arrested mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj.

The judge, Engert Pëllumbi refused the request made by the mother-in-law of Veliaj this Monday.

“The Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime, with a panel composed of Judge Engert Pëllumbi, today on 10.03.2025, announced the decision on criminal case no. 12, date 27.02.2025 regarding the determination of the asset insurance measure, preventive seizure, on immovable property”, and decided: Approval of decision no. 84, date 10.02.2025 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime. This decision may be appealed to the High Court within 45 days from the day after its notification," the decision states.
