The head of the Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Party, Taulant Balla, held a meeting this Friday with the President of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski. 

In the meeting held in Skopje, Balla discussed with Pendarovski the cooperation between the two countries, but the Ukraine-Russia conflict and the Kremlin's attempt to interfere through funding in the media and politics in the Balkans received most attention. 

"We must cooperate in confronting Russia's efforts to undermine democracy, through funding to political parties, the media, paying for stories, ads on Facebook and spreading fake news or misinformation on social networks. If in Ukraine, Russia attacked democracy with rockets, tanks and army, in many countries in Europe since 2014, also in the USA, Russia has tried to undermine democracies with illegal funding and interference", said Balla during the meeting.
