The Bank of Albania and the European Central Bank (ECB) sign a cooperation agreement for the exchange of information in the field of protection of the euro banknote from counterfeiting.

This agreement aims to regulate and facilitate the procedures of cooperation between the two central authorities in the field of protection against counterfeiting of euro banknotes in the territory of Albania.

The agreement standardizes technical information in order to strengthen the technical capacity to monitor and prevent counterfeiting of the banknotes.

Meanwhile, the European Central Bank will provide information with specifications and data obtained from the technical analysis of counterfeit euro banknotes, discovered in Europe and beyond.

Governor of Bank of Albania, Gent Sejko estimates that this cooperation is very important for the intensification of the exchange of information, opinions and expertise in the field of euro counterfeiting.
