Berat, Two Imams Escorted to Police Station after Protest
A few days after the protest organized in Berat against the increase of fuel and food prices, the police accompanied today without any reason the organizers of the protest: two Imams Gerald Kora and Iqmet Bilali as well as the civil society activist Fatjon Kora.
Three representatives of the cult Muslims, after the protest ended, demanded the peaceful evacuation of the citizens and their dispersal. They were not part of the group of people who blocked the road and physically clashed with the police.
The reason for their escort is unknown, while family members, relatives and representatives of the Berat Mufti are in front of the Berat police building. Civil society activists and Muslim believers: Isuf Braho and Edmond Shosha, appeal for the immediate release of them or on the contrary, they state that civil society and the Muslim community will react harshly.According to them, their escort to police station is illegal and a form of pressure not to react and to impede free speech.
