Businessman Ergys Agasi Arrested in Durrës

Businessman Ergys Agasi was arrested this afternoon in Durrës by the Operational Forces, in an operation carried out in cooperation with the Special Prosecution Office Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK).

Agasi was apprehended in Golem, near an area known as “Rruga me Plepa.” According to official sources, he had been under surveillance by National Bureau of Investigation (BKH) agents, assisted by operational forces from Elbasan.

Authorities had previously declared Agasi wanted as part of an investigation launched by SPAK into the Albanian National Information Society Agency (AKSHI) case, involving allegations of corruption, money laundering, and laundering of criminal proceeds. Searches had previously been conducted at properties linked to him, and assets had been seized.

According to the Albanian State Police, the operation was codenamed “The Wanted.” During the operation, police also arrested Ulian Shpataraku, who was traveling in the same vehicle as the wanted suspect, Ergys Agasi.

The arrests were carried out by the Durrës Local Police Directorate and operational structures of the General Directorate of State Police, in cooperation with SPAK.
