C. Court Rejects PM's Order for Dismissal of Democrat Mayor
Constitutional Court has turned down this Saturday the decision of the Government to dismiss the Mayor of Vau i Dejës, Zef Hila.
According to the decision of the Constitutional Court, Zef Hila's right to be informed and to be heard has been violated.
In 2019 Zef Hila was fired after the burning of the KZAZ in Bushat. At that time, Hila also appeared before the Police, stating that he was not aware of what would happen in the Vau i Dejes KZAZ.
"I only knew that there would be a peaceful protest. I do not know anything else", Hila had declared.
Then, it was Prime Minister Edi Rama who signed his dismissal, while warning the same fate for anyone who according to him"would try to obstruct the elections.
The police announced on June 27, 2019, that “around 20:00, about 200-250 PD supporters gathered at KZAZ no. 6, which was set up near a school in Bushat, Vau i Dejës. During the protest, they attacked the KZAZ using Molotov cocktails and other heavy weapons. As a result, 3 police officers of the Vau Dejës Police Station, who were on duty, were injured ".
