Civil Society Protest in Tirana after Murder of 3 Women

Civil society activists gathered this Thursday in front of the Ministry of Justice in a protest after Dan Hutra killed 3 women and injured 3 others in Tirana a day ago.

It is learned that the protest was organized by the feminist collective with the motto "Enough!", while the protesters expressed their indignation against the institutions that released Dan Hutra, even though he has a rich criminal record that includes murder and rape.

"A terrible crime happened yesterday. 3 women were killed by the hand of a man and 3 were injured. They will no longer demand that the police catch the killer or that justice be reformed. Today we are faced with a murderer who committed a crime that could have been avoided. He killed his first wife and raped another, and the police don't know that this one is dangerous. How is it possible that the institutions have failed to protect the lives of these women?

We must talk about the fact that we have normalized violence, we have considered femicide normal. It is not a crime of passion but the murder of a woman. This is the moment to speak more", said one of the protesters.

"The only remedy is self-defence. Let's walk around with knives in our belts instead of phones", said another indignant.
