Council of Ministers Allocates USD 30 Mln for Post-Quake Reconstruction

The Council of Ministers convened this Wednesday under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj, as Prime Minister Edi Rama is on a visit to New York.

Immediately after the meeting, Arben Ahmetaj took the floor and announced that a fund of 30 million dollars had just been approved, which was transferred to the development fund in order to complete the works for the earthquake damages in September 2022.

On the other hand, Arben Ahmetaj said that three very important agreements have been passed for the Pact for the University. He announced that 20m euros in loans and 5.8m euros in grants have been provided for public university student buildings.

"Today, we transferred about 30 million dollars to the development fund to continue the field work quickly to complete the works until September 2022.

In neighborhoods 4 and 8 in Tirana, the road to works is opened quickly, after expropriation with exchange. At the same time, I want to share with the citizens, that we passed three important agreements within the university pact, a sum of 20 million euros loan, 5.8 million euro grant for student buildings for public university student buildings.

The pact for the university continues to fulfill the commitments undertaken by the government", said Ahmetaj.

Immediately after the Minister of Reconstruction Arben Ahmetaj, the Minister of Tourism Mirela Kumbaro spoke and then the Minister of Interior Blendi Çuçi.

On her part, Kumbaro said that an amendment has been approved for the way waste will be managed for each municipality, while Çuçi said that an agreement has been approved between the UN and the Albanian government which brings modernization of local government.
