Demonstrators Announce New Rally Outside Parliament
Protesters have announced a new demonstration outside Albania’s Parliament at 9 a.m. on Thursday, as anti-government rallies against Prime Minister Edi Rama continue to unfold in the capital.
After spending several hours outside the Prime Minister’s Office, demonstrators moved to Skanderbeg Square on Wednesday, continuing their protest as part of the growing movement against the government.
The demonstration remained largely peaceful, although several tense moments and minor clashes were reported. Alongside students, university professors also joined the rally, expressing support for the young protesters and their demands.
Students have once again rejected Prime Minister Rama’s call for dialogue. Professors said they could not engage in talks with the head of government unless students were willing to take part in negotiations. The protest movement is also expected to expand in the coming days. Doctors have announced plans to join the students’ demonstration on Friday, potentially broadening participation in the ongoing rallies in Tirana.
