Elbasan Incinerator’s Work Cannot Be Interrupted by Probe; PM
Prime Minister Edi Rama has highlighted Thursday that the activity of the Elbasan incinerator does not have to be stopped due to investigations by the Special Prosecution against Organized Crime and Corruption (SPAK).
At a press conference, the Head of Government was asked why funding for the incinerator continues, at a time when the owners of the companies that built it are seeking justice.
According to Rama, such acts that have a significant impact on the people, should not be violated.
"I think it is not a good policy for poor Albanians for journalism to make half-truthful propaganda and above all without referring to those legal norms that the government has an obligation to refer to.
To me, ministers, former ministers and whatever they are collaborators that I throw myself into the fire until the day when the fire is the fire of a common struggle to make the affairs of this country as good as possible. As I jump into the fire to do things better, ministers pull chestnuts out of the fire for themselves, this is a matter for justice.
To me, this is news of justice having begun to work. As for those deeds. Nothing to do with individual acts.
With the likelihood of personal transgressions and abuses, they do not undermine the importance of the deeds that govern people's lives. They are works that have a very big benefit. These are works that are destined to be returned to the state.
Today, the Elbasan plant is owned by the people of Elbasan, a municipality that lived under a cloud of garbage burning in the middle of the city.
There is an expression that says, do not throw children, baby along with polluted water. The minister's answer is correct. They are contractual relations provided by law. There was a decision for Elbasan. The process is from the transfer of the seized state administration to the administration of the municipality of Elbasan", said Rama.
Meanwhile, regarding the publication of personal data and salaries, Rama procliamed that this has a positive side.
"I am giving you an example. Norway has made all people's payroll data public. And anyone could log in and be anonymous. I do not believe he is under threat of any malignant force.
This is a criminal event, and I believe that the Prosecution, thanks to investigations, people should learn that whoever gets his hands on the data of others, should be punished. It is not as transparent as it looks there. Do not worry that those security-related elements are on display there.
The concern that has been created for people is a reason to apologize, but given the time we live in, the reactions of other countries. In this evil there is also a good, that people saw many things.
I hope and am confident that it will be worthwhile for the exhibitors to take action. It is worthwhile for us to have support from people. I do not believe that someone is telling us that we are attacking neither one nor the other.
All abusers on this list, to take action, as long as they self-regulate, are in administrative violation. While if investigated, they are subject to criminal prosecution. Those who have placed large assets, but with 300.000 old ALL, to self-regulate as there will be consequences. If we want to increase pensions, we must increase contributions," said Rama.
