Fier Prosecution informed Saturday that the former Fier Cadastre director Ertis Shehu, arrested days ago in connection with the illegal transfer of 1,143 hectares in Seman, is now implicated in another case involving 71.7 hectares of land in Levan and Dërmenas.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the investigation stems from a 2008 decision granting compensation for 100 hectares. Despite receiving 53 million lek in compensation, beneficiary Ervin Habilaj allegedly began registering six properties totaling 71.7 hectares, later selling some of them for significant profit.

Authorities have seized €715,976 from Habilaj’s bank account. Both Shehu and Habilaj have been arrested, while former cartographer Emiljano Ruko has been placed under judicial supervision with an obligation to report to police.

The Fier Prosecutor’s Office said the case involves charges of document forgery, fraud, money laundering, and abuse of office.
