General Police Director, Gledis Nano's Removal Expected

General Director of State Police, Gladis Nano, seems to be in his last hours in charge of this institution, as there have been rumors of his possible departure in the last several days, but this Wednesday everything is expected to become official.

Local media reported that the decision for the new police director is being taken at the moment and will be communicated later by the Interior Minister, Bledi Çuçi.

Two most popular names so far for this position have been the Director of the Criminal Police of Albania, Neritan Nallbati, and the General Director of AMP Muhamet Rrumbullaku.

On his part, Gledis Nano succeeded Ardi Veliu as the head of the State Police after the serious events that had involved this institution, among which the murder of the young Klodian Rasha by the officer Nevaldo Hajdari stands out.

During Nano's tenure at the head of this institution, there have also been many cases where the police has been under criticism.

Moreover, the recent assassinations and murders have become a problem for security in Albania, while the topic of the day has become Ervis Martinaj, whom the police have failed to arrest.
