General Police Director Holds Meeting with Border, Migration Structures
The General Director of the State Police, Muhamet Rrumbullaku, meeting with the structures of the Border and Migration Department.
The tourist season, the highest quality service to citizens, maritime safety for beachgoers, noise pollution, prevention of border crimes, better control of the land border, to prevent the cultivation of narcotic plants and to prevent the provision of assistance for illegal crossing of the border, immigrants from third countries, increased vigilance in cases of influx to catch wanted citizens or to prevent illegalities, were the focus of the meeting with the Border Police and Migration Department, the local border directors and the heads of the police stations at the border control crossing points.
During his speech, the General Director asked the leaders of the Border Police to immediately take additional measures to ensure the highest quality service, creating ease of movement, based on the trend of increasing the flow of tourists and visitors every day. and more, are coming to our country through the border, air, sea and land crossing points.
The selection of the most qualified personnel is necessary, since the Border Police is the first point of contact for tourists and visitors with Albania, and in this respect, it must be a well-trained, educated and dedicated service force.
Increased vigilance in times of flow, since according to the respective agreements, at almost all land crossing points in the region, the accelerated procedure is often applied, and in this respect, citizens in search or various criminal elements, who exercise activity in the field of trafficking weapons, drugs and vehicles, as well as providing assistance for illegal crossing, can benefit to realize their criminal purpose.
Cooperation with the respective counterparts for uniform movement and exchange of information, for citizens with criminal tendencies in the field of border crimes.
The Director requested that the Marine Unit created for beach safety act in time and with professionalism, as well as provide information from land patrols and those on the coastline, in order to prevent events that affect the safety of vacationers. Also, immediate measures in coordination with the local police in the districts, for acoustic pollution, for seizing devices that generate music in violation of the law, as well as for legal punishment for the owners and administrators of hotels and bars that create acoustic pollution, to the detriment of residents and vacationers.
The General Director has warned the leaders of the Border Police that in case of non-fulfilment of these objectives, there will not be simple administrative measures of removal from office, but there will be criminal prosecution for abuse of office, for anyone who does not respond to the pace and requirements new ones based on the new organizational chart of the State Police, according to which the Border Police takes more responsibility in terms of preventing and fighting cross-border crimes.
