Greece on Prowl for Albanian Murder
Greek police is conducting checks for the detention of a 38-year-old Albanian who is accused of murdering a 47-year-old man in Kalamata, known by the nickname "the American".
Greek media reported that the Albanian is said to be hiding on a mountain in the Kitria area.
From the investigations so far, it appears that there was a dispute between the Albanian and the victim, while the 38-year-old is thought to have escaped from a bar where he took food and clothing.
However, it is not known whether he is still hiding there or has sought a way to escape, perhaps in his homeland.
The persons involved in the murder of "Gus", after they got out of the dark Opel Corsa type vehicle, one of them, a 22-year-old Albanian, but with a Greek passport, shot the victim with his fist.
At the moment, it is not known if the Albanian wanted to kill the 47-year-old or if he shot him in the leg because of the threat and the bullet hit a central artery, causing him to bleed profusely and then die.
Meanwhile, today the 22-year-old involved in the murder will appear before the court, as well as the two Greek citizens aged 40 and 50, who are facing misdemeanor charges of perjury and inciting criminals.
The two Greeks are accused of helping the two perpetrators involved in the incident to escape, but only one of them escaped arrest.
