Korça Prosecution Brings 2 to Trial for Intentional Murder of a Man in Greece

Korça Prosecution concluded the investigations and took citizens Armando Tarushllari and Gezim Latja to court on charges of ‘Murder with intent’ committed in complicity, as provided for in Articles 76 and 25 of the Criminal Code.

The prosecutor of the case ordered the execution of several investigative actions using special methods concerning criminal proceeding no. 387, dated December 23, 2008, which had previously been closed and later reopened. These actions were taken to ensure a thorough and objective investigation, considering the long period since the last investigative actions were conducted.

The acts, evidence, and indications gathered during the preliminary investigation phase has substantiated beyond any doubt that the defendants Armando Tarushllari and Gezim Latja, also known as J.C., A.Xh., M.D., M.C., and A.D., on December 7, 2008, at approximately 00:10 a.m. on “Efpalinu” Street in Athens, committed the crime in complicity. After a violent conflict between two Albanian groups over trivial motives, they inflicted injuries on the victim, A.Xh., using punches, sticks, and a knife. The autopsy report reveals that the fatal blows caused severe damage to the left side of his chest and heart, leading to his death.

The analysis of the evidence collected during the preliminary investigation phase established, beyond any reasonable doubt, that the defendants Armando Tarushllari and Gezim Latja (currently under arrest) have perpetrated the criminal offense of "Murder with intent," as stipulated in Article 76 of the Criminal Code. This offense was executed through active unlawful acts and in complicity.
