In her first speech, as President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani asked the citizens to stay together, promising that she will perform her duty best.

She said that in no case should the victim and the aggressor be equated, demanding that it be said out loud that the perpetrator of war crimes is Serbia.

"I will make sure that my voice is attached to the citizens, I want to ask you as citizens of this country to stay close to each other. The commitment to the rule of law has faced us with strong challenges, but we have not given up.We have kept this hope even when we were victims, Serbia has killed over 13.000 people, about 1000 were children. Peace demands that victims and aggressors be not equated, Serbia was the state that committed these crimes, this I should say out loud, it will guarantee the democratic function of the institutions", said Osmani.

Kosovo’s President, Hashim Thaci resigned on Thursday after he was notified that the war crimes indictment against him was confirmed by The Hague- based Specialist Chambers of Kosovo.
