Rama Says He Is Open to Dialogue but Rules Out Negotiations During Meeting in Zvërnec

Prime Minister Edi Rama met with residents of Zvërnec on Friday, where he addressed ongoing public concerns and commented on recent protests.

Speaking to attendees, Rama emphasized that while he is willing to engage in discussions, he has no intention of entering into negotiations.

“I said it that day: ‘Who wants to speak?’ and the response was, ‘No, we do not negotiate.’ I am the first person who does not negotiate, because I have nothing to negotiate with anyone,” Rama said. “But talking is a different matter. There is no question about that.”

The prime minister also referred to protesters, stating that he is not afraid to confront criticism or opposing views. Rama noted that he had instructed organizers not to bring supporters from the nearby city of Vlora, stressing his willingness to engage directly with local residents.

“I am not afraid to face anyone,” he said. “They will not change my mind, and they only add years to my life. Those who want to remove me will have to wait much longer.”

Rama’s remarks come amid ongoing debates and public reactions surrounding government policies, with demonstrations continuing in various parts of the country.
