Kosovo Police Embarks in Zubin Potok after Registration Center’s Burning
Tense situation in the north of Kosovo has entered Sunday the seventh day since the reciprocity measure for vehicle license plates from Serbia came into force and the Serbian citizens do not accept the reciprocity with vehicle license plates placed by official Pristina.
During Saturday, the situation at the border crossings in Brnjak and Jarinje was very delicate and there was even a grenade attack on the Vehicle Registration Center in Zubin Potok, which was burned.
In addition, to the above, the Serbian army has flown MIG aircrafts over the airspace near the border with Kosovo and in the early hours of this morning, the Kosovo Police passed by vehicles in the town of Zubin Potok, on the way to Brnjak.
During today, the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has invited the leaders of political parties to a meeting to discuss the situation in the north of the country, but the exact time when this meeting will be held has not been made known yet.
On Saturday, the media of Kosovo reported that the Registration Center in Zubin Potok was burned overnight by Serbs living there. This action of theirs came as a result of dissatisfaction with the decision of the Kosovo government for license plates of vehicles entering from Serbia.
There are also reports that Serbs threw hand grenades at the Zvecan Registration Center. But they could not burn down this office. From the event, there are no pharmacy reports of any injuries.
