Kosovo Police Seize Over 82 Kg of Marijuana, 6 People Arrested

Kosovo Police, in cooperation and coordination with the State Prosecutor's Office has conducted a police operation in the region of Pristina and Gjilan, which has resulted in the arrest of six suspects and the confiscation of over 82 kilograms of narcotics, marijuana.

During the control of the quality of material evidence in different locations were found hidden in different places and means, the seized evidence: 82 kilograms and 914 grams of marijuana; 100 packages of smuggled drugs; 1 hunting rifle with 35 bullets as well as two nylon bags filled with gunpowder and ammunition for the hunting weapon.

Also seized: 1 long gun 'AK-47' with a cartridge, 1 revolver 'TT' with a cartridge and 6 shells (bullets), 1 binoculars of a long weapon, 174 shells (bullets), 5 different vehicles, EUR 15,774.50, 20 Swiss francs and medicines of various kinds.

The suspects were arrested and by decision of the competent prosecutor were sent to detention for 48 hours.

The arrest of the suspects was made on suspicion based on involvement in the criminal offenses "Unauthorized purchase, possession, sale and distribution of narcotics, psychotropic substances or analogues", "Unauthorized possession and use of weapons", "Production and distribution" of harmful medical products and without excise stamps” as well as “Avoidance of mandatory customs payments or excise duties”.

By order of the competent prosecutor, four locations were inspected, of which two residential apartments, one in Prishtina and the other in Fushë Kosovë, as well as two houses in Gjilan together with an escort facility, which are suspected that the group in question used for hiding, selling and distributing narcotics, as well as for smuggling drugs of dubious origin.
