Kosovo Prosecutors Charge Analyst Fatmir Sheholli with Espionage and Blackmail

Kosovo’s Special Prosecutor’s Office has indicted political analyst Fatmir Sheholli on charges of espionage and blackmail, alleging that he cooperated with Serbia’s Security Intelligence Agency (BIA).

According to the 80-page indictment, Sheholli allegedly collected political, security and institutional information in Kosovo and shared it with Serbian intelligence officials. Prosecutors also allege that he received materials intended to discredit Kosovo officials and influence the October 2025 local elections.

In a separate case, Sheholli is accused of allegedly blackmailing a businessman from Podujeva and demanding more than €13,000, threatening to publish damaging information if the money was not paid.

Sheholli was arrested in October 2025 and remains in detention. The indictment has been submitted to the Basic Court in Pristina.

The allegations have not been proven in court, and the case will now proceed through the judicial process.
