Kosovo to Reduce Police Presence in North Starting Friday
Starting Friday, the reduction of the presence of the Kosovo Police around municipal facilities in the north of Kosovo will begin.
The assessment was made by the Kosovo Police, EULEX and KFOR, who through a press release made it known that from this meeting it was assessed that the situation in the north is good.
"The Kosovo Police in the wake of the realism of its constitutional and legal duties and authorizations in the interest of public safety in the country, as well as with the aim of implementing the agreements reached in Bratislava on July 10, 2023, between the European Union and the Republic of Kosovo, precisely the second step of this agreement, on this occasion a working meeting was held between the Kosovo Police, EULEX and KFOR to assess the security situation in and around the municipal buildings of the northern municipalities.
According to the joint assessment, by the Kosovo Police, EULEX and KFOR, the security situation in and around the facilities of the northern municipalities is estimated to be good. In the sense of this joint finding, from tomorrow the reduction of the members of the Kosovo Police by 25%, in and around the municipal facilities in the north, will begin," the announcement states.
The announcement states that the Kosovo Police teams, together with EULEX and KFOR, will continue coordination and will take the necessary actions according to the regular assessment of the security situation in and around municipal facilities, in the northern municipalities of the Republic of Kosovo.
