Llogara Tunnel Nearing Completion; PM Says

Prime Minister Edi Rama has announced that the works in the Llogara tunnel have progressed and 5.5 kilometers of the tunnel, which will be 6 kilometers long, have been opened.

This means that only the last 500 meters are left, and according to what the Prime Minister wrote on social media, they will be completed in the first weeks of January 2023.

"In the construction site of the Llogara tunnel, where in only 13 months from the start of the works, the work has progressed significantly to 5.5 kilometers of tunnel opened from 6 kilometers in total, which means that the last 500 meters are left. In the first weeks of 2023, the excavations are expected to be fully completed to continue with the other processes of this very important infrastructural work, which will significantly shorten the travel time to the south coast, simultaneously increasing road safety parameters," Rama wrote.
