The Democratic Party has announced the candidate for mayor of Shkodra for the March 6 elections. The leading structures of the Democratic Party in Shkodra proposed Xhemal Bushati to run in the local by-elections. 

Xhemal Bushati has previously held the post of former chairman of the Shkodra municipal council. 

According to the deadlines set by the DP headship, the party base and the branch leaderships in the 6 municipalities must nominate candidates within February 2nd. 

The candidates proposed by the base will then be subject to review and approval by the DP headship.
