Minister Xhaçka's Husband's Firm Created Few Days after Law on Strategic Investments; DP

A group of Members of Parliament of the Democratic Party (DP) have demanded the removal of the MP's mandate of Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka because her husband Artan Gaçi has benefited from the status of strategic investor.

In the evidence that the opposition submitted to the Mandates Commissions, it is stated that the law on strategic investments entered into force on October 17, 2015, and only four days later the company owned by Artan Gaçi was established.

According to Democrat MPs, the company owned by the husband of minister Xhaçka has benefited from the support measure of allowing the use of the beach in front of the 5-star hotel in Himara, with the right to use it for a period of 30 years.

Part of DP's accusations below:

The law on strategic investments was approved on May 28, 2015 and entered into force on October 17, 2015.

Immediately after the entry into force of the law, specifically on October 21, 2015, the commercial company AG was created. TCC shpk, with object of activity investment in hotel-tourism. This company, created only 4 days after the entry into force of the law on strategic investments, turns out to be owned by Mr. Artan Gaçi, who is the administrator and sole partner of this company. Mr. Artan Gaçi turns out to be the husband of the MP of Socialist Party and the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Mrs. Olta Xhacka.

The company was established immediately after the approval of the AG strategic investment law. TCC shpk owned by the husband of the minister and MP Mrs. Olta Xhacka, with decision no. 3/5, date 29/03/2021 "For the approval of the status "investment/strategic investor assisted procedure for the investment project "DREAMADES LUXURY SUITES", subject "AG.TCC" sh.p.k, with NUIS L52227046H" of the Committee of Strategic Investments, has obtained the status of strategic investor for the construction of a multi-storey 5-star hotel on a development area of ??10,592 m and worth about 5.5 million EUR, in Gjileka, Himare Municipality. Among other things, the decision of the Committee on Strategic Investments foresees the relief measures that benefit the company owned by the husband of the Minister and MP Mrs. Olta Xhacka.
