Mother Teresa Sanctification, Holy See Issues Special Coin

On the 6th anniversary of the Sanctification of Mother Teresa, the Vatican will commemorate the Albanian saint with a special coin.

The Holy See will issue a 2-euro coin bearing the portrait of Mother Teresa. The coin was made by the artist Orietta Rossi. On the reverse is Mother Teresa holding an Indian child.

This image is perhaps the perfect emblem of the devotion that Mother Teresa offered to the poorest people to alleviate their suffering to a minimum.

Around the picture, moreover, we find the inscription "MOTHER TERESA OF CALCUTTA" at the top and "CITTÁ DEL VATICANO" at the bottom. In the right part, finally, are the dates "1997-2022". Today marks 25 years since the death of Mother Teresa and 6 years since her canonization.
