Multiple Active Fires in Albania, Most Critical Areas Unveiled

Albania is facing eight active fires at the moment, announced Saturday the Minister of Defense, Niko Peleshi, as he revealed that the most problematic areas are the ones of Karaburuni, Shijak, Përmet and Fier, where the Armed Forces are assisting the firefighters.

In his statement, the Minister emphasized that the all civil emergencies structures in the relevant areas are working to extinguish the flames and the rest of the soldiers are on standby for any potentially critical situation.

On the other hand, he urged the citizens to be careful in areas where drought presents high risk of flames and invited them to report or identify anyone who attempts or commits arson.

“Currently in the country we have 8 active fires, all state structures of civil emergencies in the respective areas, are working intensively to neutralize them.

In the areas where the situation is more critical, the tools and troops of the Armed Forces are engaged, such are the cases of Karaburun, Shijak, Përmet, Fier, etc. The rest of the Armed Forces is in full readiness for possible situations in the coming hours/ days.

On the other hand, I call on the community to be careful in areas where there is a high risk of fire due to drought, I also invite them to cooperate with state structures for timely notification of situations or denunciation/ identification of intentional offenders”, communicated the Defense Minister.
