Albanian authorities continue the repatriation operations of Albanian citizens who have sought asylum in the Schengen area, while only Tuesday were repatriated from Lille of France 25 Albanian citizens who had sought asylum.

This operation was carried out based on an agreement with the relevant EU authorities, with whom the actions were coordinated. Each group of repatriates is accompanied by an Albanian Police escort.

However, such repatriation operations will continue even in the upcoming months. The State Police appeals to all Albanian citizens traveling to EU countries, to respect the rules of movement in the Schengen area and not to seek asylum as there are no chances of obtaining it.

On its part, the Border Police has increased controls at border crossing points for the documentation and fulfillment of the conditions for traveling to EU countries, as well as has strengthened the controls at the green border.
