Director of the Dibra’s Local Police Directorate and the Prosecutor of Mat, Abaz Muça, held a press conference Friday to reveal details from the anti-drug mega operation that took place in Mat.

During the operation codenamed "Cape of the Vozaj", almost all the men of a village in Mat were arrested by the Police, while Baftjar Gjecuka was declared wanted.

Names of the arrested are: Gezim Koleci, Mehmet Koleci, Idajet Koleci, Albert Koleci, Vilson Koleci, Gestian Koleci, Lezan Koleci, Agim Koleci, Besmir Koleci, Fation Doda, Rasim Gjecuka and Gazmir Gjecuka.

At the conference, the Mat District Prosecutor said that the investigation was launched after a preliminary information from the Mat Police Station.

The Prosecution had registered criminal proceedings in 2019 for the criminal offense "cultivation of narcotic plants".

"For 2 years of investigation with special methods after the administration of evidence and cooperation with the police Mat, Dibër, Tirana and Durrës, it became possible to arrest 14 people and one declared wanted. Investigations continue to identify other persons", said the prosecutor.
