In all universities of Albania, the new academic year has kicked this Monday.

According to the data, there are about 20,000 students who sit for the first time in university auditoriums. Students this year were registered in two rounds.

First round took place from September 29-11, while the second round lasted until September 21.

Registration was done online for the first two rounds, while in the study programs where there were free admission quotas, the candidates who applied to U-Albania were registered directly at the universities until all the quotas were filled.

The new academic year kicked off amid complains and protests called by the students of medicine faculty, who refuse new law that forces them to work at least five years post graduation in Albania. A protest was called later this day.
