New details have come to light this Wednesday regarding the mega operation carried out in some prisons, where many officials are accused of corruption, narcotics, abuse of office and entry of illegal items inside the cells.

The Albaniandailynews.com has learned that the network was organized between several employees of prisons in Elbasan, Peqin and Korça, where through cooperation between them, it is accused that they managed to put pro-narcotics inside the cells and other items such as mobile phones.

Sources have announced that 11 employees of prisons have been arrested, in IECD Elbasan, IEC Peqin, IECD Drenovo.

Also, a detention order was issued as part of the group for 9 prisoners, some of whom are known as "VIP" prisoners due to crimes committed. Among the prominent names involved in this mega operation are Arben Grori, Klajdi Gjeçi, Aleksandër Sinanaj and Aleksandër Llanaj.

Among the arrested were several businessmen, specifically a man and a woman who operate a shop near the Peqin prison. Some of those arrested are businessmen from Vlora who are accused of gambling.

Today, 27 detention orders were issued, most of which were executed by FNSH and Operational. Regarding this operation during the next day is expected to have a press conference to make public the new details.

Convicts involved below:

- Aleksandër Sinanaj is suspected as one of the masked robbers of the National Commercial Bank located in the neighborhood "Hajro Çakërri" in the city of Vlora, an event that occurred on 15.08.2011.

- Aleksandër Llanaj was found guilty of the murder of three young people in April 2015 in Vlora and was sentenced to life imprisonment and then 35 years in prison by the three levels of the judiciary in Albania.

- Arben Grori, was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1999 by the Fifth Criminal Court of Milan in Italy, a decision that was later recognized and upheld by the Court of Appeals, also in Milan. Grori was found guilty of killing Zyber, in a hospital in Milan, where he was hospitalized.

- Klajdi Gjeci, known as a friend of Emiliano Shullazi was arrested in Tirana for selling narcotics in May 2020
