New Mayors' Work Very Important to Albania's EU Membership; Hupin
Head of the political sector of the European Union delegation in Tirana, Alexis Hupin has underlined this Friday that the work of the new mayors is important to Albania's EU membership, as 70% of the European legislation will be implemented by local government.
In a statement for the media, the European official stated that the EU has already given its opinion regarding the progress of the election process and how important is cooperation of the elected local authorities with the European bodies.
"I don't want to make a comment about the election process because the OSCE-ODIHR has spoken about the election process. What I expect is cooperation with the local authorities, a work that will be very important for the future of Albania.
The only thing I say is that we expect cooperation with the elected authorities and that 70% of the EU legislation will be implemented by the local authorities, so their work for the integration of the EU in the EU will be important", stated Hupin.
